As part of a contest to feature technology use in the college classroom, Fisher's Educational Technologies Team created a video demonstrating the challenges of capturing students' attention in an age of iPods, laptop computers, and Facebook using the "Undercover Boss" theme as an introduction. The video demonstrates how the use of "Turning Point" clickers force students to not only to pay attention but to participate in classroom lessons and discussions in a very active way. Clicker technology improves the teaching skills of the instructor, in that the professor can gauge the effectiveness of his lectures and even pinpoint an individual student who may not have an understanding of the concepts he/she are teaching.
