THE DOE AND EPA HONORS MAXLITE!
Award given for saving consumers money and reducing greenhouse gases!
Fairfield, NJ, March, 2009 - The US Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will formally present this prestigious Partner of the Year award to MaxLite at the awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2009.
In choosing MaxLite for its ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year, the DOE and the EPA are recognizing MaxLites continuing contribution and commitment to manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR. MaxLite is a long standing ENERGY STAR Partner with more than 55 Years in the research, development and manufacture of energy saving lighting products.
Every lighting product we make and sell is energy efficient and most earn the ENERGY STAR, said Yon Sung, President and CEO of MaxLite. That is why this honor from ENERGY STAR is so greatly appreciated. We have always invested time and resources into the development of better and more efficient lighting. We are a technology driven company. Our goal is to lead the way.
In keeping with their leadership role as Energy Star Partner of the Year, MaxLite is already looking ahead to the next development in energy efficiency.
This is a great reward for our past efforts, said Greg Murphy, Product Manager for MaxLite. But the next frontier in saving energy is functional LED lighting. That is where new lighting developments will come from.
LEDs are already in use in some very specific applications; like stop lights and in the auto industry. But ENERGY STAR® Partners like MaxLite are looking for the development of functional LED lighting that can be used in homes and offices and in the buildings that house them. LED technology (also called solid state lighting) will be one of the themes at the ENERGY STAR Partners Meeting, in San Antonio, TX, in March, 2009.
Partner of the Year Award winners were chosen from more than 12,000 organizations that participate in the government-led ENERGY STAR program. ENERGY STAR is the most recognizable energy efficiency brand for consumer products for home and office.
EPA is pleased to recognize MaxLite for leadership in addressing global warming through greater energy efficiency, said Kathleen Hogan, Director of the Climate Protection Partnership Division at the U.S.EPA. By promoting their products that have earned the ENERGY STAR, MaxLite is showing customers that we can boost our nations energy efficiency and reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases, while producing quality products.
