So the girls in my school feel the need to say that I’m too tall and don’t have a body. But with my style, I’m very conservative therefore my body isn’t on display. I don’t get how being tall is a bad thing, which is why I don’t get how they try to insult me on my height. I can’t change how tall I am and to be honest, some people wish to be taller. So, I embrace my height, my body, and my style. Why should I have to listen to a bunch of people who don’t even know me for me?

U don't understand how much I love u! Omg I'm obsessed😍😍😍 you always touch on things that I go through and thank you so much for this video

But your teeth are very beautiful and so your eyes are!
Mia Burke (1 year ago)
Lol! Crazy eyes? There's no resemblance.
Loved this video! Yes, I definitely think you should do one of your "crazy rants" (love them) about the nasty comments. I love the fact that social media has allowed normal people to become role models for fashion, beauty, etc. with all their crooked teeth, lumps and imperfections, and we don't just have to look at the "perfect" models that the media and fashion industry chooses for us. It's sad that there are viewers out there who feel so comfortable insulting people like you who put themselves out there from behind their computer screens and in the safety of anonymity.

Great message Lauren! My body has changed after 4 babies, but I have awesome hubby and kids so who cares? I always try to look nice, but just evolve my style from mid rise to high rise denim which solves most challenges, and wear more sleeved tops instead of tanks. Life is too short to think of ourselves as anything less than perfect. Easier said than done, but we need to be kind to ourselves ☺️
yensid (1 year ago)
Your teeth are fine & I love your smile. This advice so speaks to truth. We should all love & dress the bodies we have NOW. Life is too short to not wear clothes that you love & live the life that makes you happy.

Lauren, thank you so much for this video!! I have always been self conscious about my teeth as well. I have a gap that I used to always want to get closed and in my mind, it was HUGE and stuck out like a sore thumb whenever I smiled (so I used to rarely ever smile). Just to give some background, when my (now husband) and I first met, I let him do most of the talking and would only slightly smirk or laugh with my head down which incidentally caused me to never really notice his gap! 😧 And it almost cost me (ultimately) the best thing that has ever happened to me. Fast foward about 2-3 weeks, I called him up for another date (because I really did like him a lot) and he said no 😳😮😩, I asked why and he said because he felt like I was asking him on a pity date because I obviously didn't have a good time on the first one (due to my lack of communication and smiling). I explained that wasn't the case and asked if he would meet me for lunch (he agreed) and I (hesitantly) began opening up more and (without thinking about it) broke out in a huge smile and laughter after he told me the funniest/cutest story from his childhood aaaaaand he noticed my gap & he mentioned it as something we had in common (physically). I wanted to die 😔😢. So fast foward again to the night he proposed. He went on this long rant about how much he loved me and how beautiful I was and (me wanting to be 'perfect' asked him what about my gap? He told me something that I will never forget. He said that was a feature of mine that made me perfectly imperfect. My gap gave my smile personality (as he put it) and was unique to me. Not some perfectly straight off the factory lines cartoon teeth LOL, but a smile that's sweet and genuine and uniquely mine. I knew right then and there that I had met my husband. A man who still looks at me as if I am the most stunningly beautiful woman he has ever met wether I am wearing sweats and a t-shirt around the house with my hair in a ponytail or an elegant evening gown for an event at his company. And I smile bigger and brighter than ever now! ❤😆💋

That's such a wonderful story about you and your husband, and hope it goes a long way in helping others shed their insecurities and become more open with potential partners and people in general.

Great advice! Good for you, Lauren! It is hard sometimes not to focus just on what we dislike about ourselves, but you're right, most of the time other people don't even notice. They're probably too busy worrying about their own perceived flaws! As for the haters, they obviously have their own serious issues.
Laura Madden (2 years ago)
GIRL! Thank you for this! YOU rock! and your teeth are gorgeous and also- you ALWAYS look amazing in your clothes!

Hi Lauren, keep doing what you do! I clearly don't know you, but came across your YouTube channel. I enjoy your content! You're on to something - keep doing what you do. Not only do I enjoy your work content, but you seem to be a great PERSON, and exude a nice disposition and outlook. I work in fashion as well. I hope that our paths may cross in the future. :-)
My white, shapeless legs are one of my least favorite parts of my body; I have thick ankles and no calves, it sucks! However, I still wear skirts (with black hose) and feel cute. I even like to cuff my jeans, slightly exposing the ankles I dislike- I still think it looks cute to wear them that way. Whatever. In the words of Regina Spector "I have a perfect body cuz my eyelashes catch my sweat". S'true!
Jewell Padua (2 years ago)
This is by far my favorite video you've done!
Clare Schuberg (2 years ago)
Hi Lauren, what's your take on tattoos and piercings, and how they relate to one's personal style? Btw love your style and videos, keep the effortless chic coming!!
OMG! You're so right Lauren! *High Five*

I was told by a guy I use to like that I had old lady legs and I was 14 years old at the time , I have not been able to use shorts sense then😩

Empowering! Love your positive message. If we share a flaw, I think we should be forced to share two assets (one physical and one about our character). I don't like that my arms are rather hairy, but I love my toned sexy shoulders. So lots of sleeveless outfits for me! And regarding my character, I can empathize with people very different than me which makes me a good supportive listener.
Scatach7 (2 years ago)
Lauren, whoever said your teeth was bad looking was crazy! Mine are WAY worse, plus look yellower than they really are thanks to me being super pale. I really enjoy these chit-chat videos of yours, they are very inspirational :)
unveiled allure (2 years ago)
I used to keep arms covered and then I realized, I was just being hard on myself and most people don't even notice. The people that did have something negative to say really don't even matter
unveiled allure (2 years ago)
I totally agree. My teeth are flawed and i have kp on arms.
Inez (2 years ago)
Hi Lauren, what are your picks for a capsule wardrobe...!? ;-)
Rochelle Storts (2 years ago)
I just discovered your videos today and was thinking how beautiful you are (and you remind me of my cousin). I've always been self-conscious about my mouth shape, only because my sisters used to call me "monkey" when I was little. Thanks for this topic --- we all need to go easy on ourselves. It's amazing how one negative comment can shift our perception of ourselves, after a lifetime of compliments. I'm working hard to embrace myself, as I am. Love your styling vids - exited to see more!

hey Lauren! i love your videos 😘 could you do one for students who are going to be professionals but are still on a student budget. i'm in business school and i have to go from class to work to networking events all while looking polished but still make it through the day. thanks!

you're teeth are gorgeous!!!! so much better than mine. I'm short 5 foot 3, but I'm petite framed, was always told i wss too skinny as a teenager. im in my thirtirs now and I've learned to love it!
Fahimah Hedar (2 years ago)
F Perfect. Do you. Be Free. Go girl! Since I moved to Asia I've been self conscious about my height - but why should I let the insecurities of other drag me down. Nah, I'ma stand tall and feel like a sexy badass. xD
Lyndell Werling (2 years ago)
This is a powerful video! It's a fabulous reminder to all of us to value ourselves - no matter what detractors say or do. I have a huge scar on my arm from melanoma. I hate when people ask me about it. A male friend reframed that way that I think about it. He told me that Spartans valued scars because they showed bravery in battle. Some scars we hold are visible, some invisible. We need to look for the inner beauty in others & ourselves and stop being critics! I also like your point about holding ourselves back if we wait until we reach that perfect milestone to move our lives ahead. BRAVO! Appreciate the positive start to my day your video provided.

Love it! Anytime someone makes a snarky, critical comment about you on YouTube you should just link them to this video.

Are you f* kidding me?!!! Your teeth are PERFECT! You are soooo beautiful! I follow you forever and have never made a comment. I felt I had to now. I love your look, queen! <3
Katie (2 years ago)
I really love this video! I struggle with perfectionism as well. My flaw is that I'm too skinny. I'm really self conscious about it and I try to eat more and gain muscle but nothing works.
Lesley Maidona (2 years ago)
you're awesome
Liza Wild (2 years ago)
Not to sound weird but I think you have sexy feminine teeth. I have a more straight wide smile that I always felt was kind of "masculine". I am a fairly new subscriber and have been enjoying your videos. Pay no mind to the idiots with the keyboard courage who would never have the balls to say it to your pretty face/teeth 😆

braces would brings a lot of bad stuff to teeth they broke from front teeth and make it yellow n' fine Tooth easy and fast Decay and necrosis from my experience i was wear it i wish if i know that before to care way much more than i do! wish me luck
Heather F. (2 years ago)
I am not very blessed with my "behind" so I am always conscious on wearing skinny jeans or leggings bec it would highlight that part of my body, but [email protected] perfect! I'd still wear them because they are comfortable and they look good! =)
Nina N (2 years ago)
Hi Lauren, your teeth look pretty great already! I had braces and I regret them because after having sunk $6000 into them, the teeth ended up shifting back and my bite isn't as comfortable as it was pre-braces. Thanks for sharing your great videos!
Nanna Lambert (2 years ago)
You are soooo right. This applies to me keeping my house clean and perfect. Got to be less obessive.
Nanna Lambert (2 years ago)
Wish I had your legs instead of my skinny legs anytime.
LegalDiva (2 years ago)
Great advice boo!
Elizabeth A Daly (2 years ago)
Wow taking YOUR POWER back! !
Sarah Richardson (2 years ago)
My imperfection is my belly pooch and back fat. For so long I felt like I couldn't wear anything tucked in because it would highlight it. Now, I know with the right bra and underwear, even if it's still there, it's smooth. But I have a confession: sometimes I don't wear shape wear and rock my rolls! F*** perfect!
BeautyByMayely (2 years ago)
Well said Lauren!!! These days is so hard to deal with [email protected]&.. perfection and stereotypes all the time
SeasonedDiva #1 (2 years ago)
Good advice!! Love how you wearing that outfit lady!!
Gen Williams (2 years ago)
Ugh. Nothing wrong with your teeth! Those people were morons. I had craaazy wonky teeth from falling on my face as a kid. I got braces, which hurt like hell, and they fixed it, but I'm still self conscious about them, because life's fucked up. So that was useful. Meh. I wear clothes I feel good in so the focus is there and not on my imaginary neuroses. Also, when I was a teen, classmates asked "why are you so skinny, you must be anorexic". Nope...just skinny, a late starter, and increasingly neurotic about it. THANKS. Twenty yrs later, the world did not end because some Mean Girls said I was too skinny. Instead I'm in my mid 30s, still skinny but with the curvy bits that come with being a woman, and can still eat what I want and wear what I want. Think that's called having the last laugh. Other people's hateful comments are a waste of your, theirs and everyone else's time.
MsOnitemi (2 years ago)
Great video! I have been trying to lose my mommy pouch since I gave birth a year ago. All my weight is gone except this mommy pouch and I stopped buying clothes bcos I was waiting to lose it. A couple of months back, I said F it and started buying a size bigger than my pre-baby size. Why wait and look frumpy in baggy clothes? Agree with you. Just live for now. Don't be afraid to buy a bigger size. I even just cut off the size labels so I don't remember. Lol!
SeasonedDiva #1 (2 years ago)
Good for you!!! Cut off the label!!!! That's funny!!!
Natea Williams (2 years ago)

Hey Lauren! uve taught me so much to keep an eye for curating my own style... I just wanna say thank u! and this video here... Fuck yeah!!! screw the haters... Ive had a set of insecurities about my face and body and truly the only way was to say fuck that and own what I have... cuz hey... it works perfectly swell... Thankoo and its amazing to see ur growth & screen presence on these videos... love ur style type keywords... soooo eye opening... thank u for simplifying fashion!!!
D Thomas (2 years ago)
Ha, I love your rants. And I can't find anything wrong with your teeth. But even if I did, as long as they chew. Funny. I have big hips. Only recently, after your video, I let it go enough to do the half tuck you showed us. Whatever. They carried my children. It's all good.
Buffy Alten (2 years ago)
Thank you Lauren... this video was just custom made for me. I need to stop concerning myself with being perfect... cuz guess what? There is no perfection! The joke is on me... Be happy with the flaws and pluses, they make us who we are.
D K (2 years ago)
''F perfect!' is going to be my new mantra! :D
JudyAnne (2 years ago)
I think you are so beautiful and have great style of course but it was your personality that won me over!
Sousou Karr (2 years ago)
i realy like your smile, these little "unperfect" things make everyone different and special; its a signature... and peaple hwo see this one unperfect in someone are really jalious because everything else is realy beautiful they want to find something bad in others to feel good about themselves... i like it: stop waiting for be perfect and act for now... love you lauren xoxox
Denice Bolden (2 years ago)
Lauren, I'm right there with you on F perfect. We are all perfect in our imperfect way. We are loved by someone, we inspire others and at age 57 I AM Perfect. Perfectly classy and effortlessly chic.
Nanna Lambert (2 years ago)
Girl i am with you, well said
Sandra Sequeira (2 years ago)
I love so much that you keep it real... We are not the girls on the magazines and the girls on the magazines are not like they appear on the magazines. F* perfect, because there´s no such thing!!! We would have to go to the saloon every day, spend one hour or more doing our makeup, carry special ligts everywere we go and spend rivers of money on surgery like liposuction or botox. Can´t we just BE?!?... Be like HUMAN! Thank you for sharing this video, empowering woman to love themselfs with their flaws and all the good stuff :)

Great video, Lauren! Just bought my first blazer after years of searching for one that would accommodate my boobs and arms. I'm super happy about it and it was worth the wait to find one that I can move comfortable in and feel like a fucking boss in 💪😃
Liv T (2 years ago)
I'm 10 lbs overweight but I'm still buying/wearing my casual chic style. Before I would just buy clothes to cover my weight gain, now I'm rocking my style in a few sizes bigger💅🏼
