If you want to be noticed, always go for a somewhat different but classier look... stand out from the crowd.  I'm 65 and routinely take late 20's early 30's women back to their place.  Always go to country night clubs (NOT dives).  Retired and on a limited income BUT... in good shape for my age, shaved head and white goatee, spit shined older creased black boots with well work inner heels and polished but scratched silver toe and heel plates (looks like I ride horses and don't look like a weekend warrior), dark blue Lee jeans (pressed and starched crease), Armani white linen shirt (always starched and dry cleaned for that crisp look), a blue black Armani sport coat (actually Men's Warehouse made-to-measure with an Armani tag I got from a ragged out suit coat on EBay for $40.00, and trust me men... women do look at the label), and a Stetson hat.  All the rest of the men are wearing ripped old jeans and biker shirts, usually with spanking new boots.  When I walk in, to the ladies I look like a somebody... maybe a retired musician or singer, but somebody important.  After THEY approach ME (again, I look different than the rest of the men there... like someone that's important) I happen to mention I played guitar until I got my fingers messed up riding a sort-a wild horse (one third true, I did play guitar but sucked.  Oh come on... like the ladies don't lie!!!)).  Oh, and I only dance slow west coast swings and I have what could be described as a very sensual style of dancing (been told quite a few time to 'get a room' as we walk off the dance floor).  Women absolutely love dancing slow and close on a lead/follow dance men... they like your feel of control and confidence.

I have great success with a greys brown tweed with a cope of other colors mixed in.My jeans can be new,to pretty faded, and western boots, with a more casual aussie style hat.I can wear multiple color shirts, and still get many compliments with this style outfit.
4Gnet Mail (11 months ago)
Mate, is that a moustache or a dirty smudge? Or a 5 O'clock shadow? Just wondering but I like your channel. I think you don't need Blazers and Sports Jackets, one or the other not both these days. I have Suits and Blazers and wind/water proof jackets, plenty of them. Leather jackets from suit jacket style to motorcycle style, around 10 of them. I work in an office but take a train to work, in Auckland NZ it rains often but it's too warm to wear an overcoat over a suit, We get 100% humidity some days, something said about Auckland is we can get 4 seasons in one day. Love your work.

How to wear a sports jacket with jeans? Don't. 1978 is NOT an era worthy of retro-izing.
Big Green Truck (1 year ago)
I have 3 sport jackets that go well with lighter colored jeans. All of my jeans are boot cut, incidentally. I wear boots with great frequency, and I find that the style of dress/casual shoe that I prefer goes well with them. My casual style is generally "rock star" oriented, so the worn jean works for me, too. The jackets that I wear with my jeans are: A medium gray colored wool jacket. This is my basic, go-to jacket. I can basically throw on a collared shirt, or a sweater, slip on the jacket, and I'm ready for dinner at most places. It works from mid-fall to mid-spring, so most of the year. I have another gray jacket, with some dark specks. This is more of a rockstar jacket, and I generally have to put thought into wearing that one. It's lighter weight, so I can wear it in warmer months. And, I have a light, cream colored jacket. This is definitely a spring and summer jacket. It has paisley embroidery on it, that's the same color as the jacket. I typically wear a dark shirt with it, as I have dark hair and light skin. The contrast of the dark shirt, with the light jeans and jacket, keep me from "washing out".
mysterioso 100 (1 year ago)
Have to agree with others. JarHead, if you're going to talk about something below your waist, have the camera do a full shot of you or at least a few shots of you from the waist down that you can edit into the video. Disconcerting when nobody can see what you're talking about.

RMR FitnessOfficial (2 years ago)
As a European who's currently living in Spain, these jeans are rather ugly looking. if I were to combine jeans with a sportsjacket I would go with something more fashionable. These jeans give the idea that the person who's wearing them has no clue about fashion or is a very old-fashioned (you now know this words origin) dresser. great vid anyways. Ireally love watching yours.

I would have loved to see you pan out the camera so you can actually show the blazer with the different jeans and shoes... heck even show what NOT to wear just to prove a point. Your voice is kinda relaxing though not some annoying high pitched squeaky sound 😆
Morten Bensen (2 years ago)
Man, love your content. But I'm just saying this; I've seen numerous guys pulling skinny jeans with sports jackets and even Blazers off! It all depends on the way you do it, how your legs are shaped, and even what shoes you wear. If you like the combination of skinny jeans and formalwear, you should do it. In addition, I think we agree on this; if you feel good, you get confident, and if you're confident, you look good. Cheers

Hi Antonio, I often were Sports Jackets with Jeans. But I have a question: I have a nice Sports Jacket with a Besom Ticket Pocket and Flap Pockets. Some of my other Sports Jacket also have Flap Pockets but I think it looks a bit younger / fresher to tuck the Flap in the pocket for having Besom Pockets and looks more like a Sports Jacket instead of a Suit Jacket with its Flap Pockets. Is this allowed?

Antonio? What do you recommend to a navy blue slightly rugged structured sports jacket? I only have navy blue jeans but I got a pair of tan/khaki chinos. Only a white and a light blue dress shirt and a pair of dark brown almost black Chelsea boots. What kind of patterned dress shirt would go with it? A tie? Appreciate your advice! :)

I got a question. When it comes to sport jackets,I wear skinny jeans all the time with of course my cowboy boots?I am able to pull it off every time. But while you are walking, are you suppose to button the jacket or leave it unbuttoned?
Ian Lenn (2 years ago)
That's most likely just preference. Buttoned is probably more formal, but with skinny jeans (which are atrocious in any outfit) and cowboy boots (which don't go too well with skinny jeans), you're most likely going to want to leave it unbuttoned.
Nathanael Winters (3 years ago)
Lee jeans are actually pretty big even in norway. They're a step above H&M clothes, I used to wear that brand alot before I decided to upgrade one step above that again. They're nice and affordable, but not super-cheap. They have a really nice fit tho. (Depending on the specific jeans)

Whether he's well-dressed is debatable. His pocket square, apart from being garish, also clashes with his shirt. That's basic stuff.

Yep, rather frustrating because I've watched 5 different types of videos you have and in each you're talking about the Lee jeans you're supposedly wearing and how they look with what we can only see from chest up. Each time I think, "Why is he not showing the whole outfit, even for a moment, and even if that's not the focus of the video if he's going to mention it?"

WmMorris27 (4 years ago)
+Real Men Real Style I understand you recommend a slim or regular cut for jeans.  I'm a bigger guy so slim fit are very unflattering and I find that most regular cut jeans are very uncomfortable (read:  generally do not fit) in the thigh and seat area.  I know loose fit is out of the question (and would look tacky with a tailored sports coat) but would you recommend for someone like me to look at relaxed fit jeans (I think it's a straight cut at the leg ends but has more room in the thigh and seat) ?
Real Men Real Style (4 years ago)
+WmMorris27 straight cut or modern jeans should work well with your body type

Paul TheSkeptic (4 years ago)
I like the shirt collar outside of the jacket look. What do you think of that? Usually solid black or maroon with a brown jacket.
Real Men Real Style (4 years ago)
+Paul TheSkeptic There are no rules on that but to have an open collar. I would say go for a light patterned dress shirt

tubeberk08 (4 years ago)
did you mention whether button down or open collar shirt is best?
ventende (4 years ago)
Those jeans looks like something you could pick up at the supermarket for a buck. I'm sorry but I don't get that look. Jeans very easily end up looking silly when they are raw dark blue with that ugly yellow stitching. To top it off even more, all those chunky pocket buttons makes it unbearable. I'm fine with the jacket and shirt thing, but please waste those raw denims. They don't serve any purpose for anyone.
Adam Hen (4 years ago)
This guy has good advice for some fashionably oblivious people, but the no skinny jeans pointer was way off.... especially coupled with how baggy some of those "straight fit" jeans displayed. Stick with slim-straight if you don't like skinny jeans. Baggy and even strictly straight cut jeans are too bulky and WAY out of style. If you aren't comfortable in fitted clothing, try slim-straight jeans from a few designers (I'd try Levi's first, the 513's) and you'd be surprised at how much they aren't "tight" fitting but how much slimmer they make your profile and look fall together. EDIT: holy shit this guy is advertising for some expensive stuff. I used to spend stupid money on clothes until I realized I can look 10x better for less than 1/2 the price. Stick with tops $70-80 a pair. You can get anything you need for Levi's or similar brands for $60 or even less on sale, and that's full retail pricing.

I would recommend to add more pictures to these how-to's in general (a picture is worth more than a thousand words, they say sometimes). I think you might have a lot more subscribers who's primary language is not English. Though I'd like to think I speak the language pretty well, I am completely lost with words when it comes to clothing. I tend to understand it only when I see it. More pictures would lead to more "aha" moments as well. Other than that, great channel! Thank you!

Faded jeans with a sport coat are cool if they are clean and creased. I like slimmer style jeans like you recomend but if you are husky don't squeeze in, forget the whole sport coat and jean thing. Its for a slim reasonably taller guy. Navy cord, tan leather and tan micro fiber with jeans look sharp.
Ryan Kung (5 years ago)
Korean men are more into sports jacket as well. for a kpop look. But I do agree that it boils down to the fit and color combination. You can wear fit jeans a spery top sider, a white shirt over a peach sports jacket or a and viola miami vice :)
