Obviously you know nothing about hi-fi! You use a picture of a high end B&W hifi cinema set up in the ad for Your video and then you show s*** cheap budget crap like Bose if you know anything about home cinema Bose was at the bottom of anybody's list, As a bandpass system is not true hi-fi. How can you get base from a 2.5" speaker? What a load of bollock's
peterkin1010 (10 months ago)
Utter BULLSHIT..VSX1130 is NOT a flagship product.

The audio on this video needs heavy de-essing.

So they went with Bose instead of speakers by Goldenear Technology, Martin Logan, Def Tech or B&W???? Are you F'n kidding me?? And I agree with the others posting that HK isn't what it used to be. Worst picks, for a home theater, I've seen in along time.

hello, can anyone guide me as to what handheld mic can be used with sony home theather (BDV-N9200WL)? would greatly appreciate if specific model number is mentioned and from where to find it?

No highs? No lows? Must be Bose. Save your money and buy an Anthem MRX Series Receiver. Seriously
Ally Snoop (9 months ago)
Doug Helmer Better yet, don't buy a receiver at all. You truly want great sound? Get a separate pre/Pro and power amplifier. Truly it's the only way to fly.

Hey guys.. I am interested in purchasing a home theater system for my tv. But i have a question.. can you listen to FM radio through the head unit? Any information would be great, thanks.

Atmos...another gimmick to sell more speakers... Keep in mind that "surround sound" can be simulated with just two speakers.

Onkyo now owns Pioneer. Pioneer as we know it is dead!
Electronics For Fun (1 year ago)
onkyo isn't any more mainstream than denon or marantz.
Hansy (1 year ago)
On the "mainstream" market only Yamaha is good. Other than that i would go for Maratnz, Primare, Emotiva, Denon, Cambridge, etc. Pioneer, Sony, Onkyo, etc has always felt cheap.
Maligxxx (1 year ago)
nah they trash, my onkyo receivers hdmi is gone after only a year, only audio works on it
Electronics For Fun (1 year ago)
who cares, onkyo is pretty good shit too.

What crap. As soon as Bose is added to the list....Harman used to be good, I got rid of a Harman AVR, it had less than proper BM. ATMOS, pure waste, like height/width channels. With good quality main L/R speakers, properly placed, setup...height, width channels are never needed, and with many quality recordings, said stereo setup can sound like surround. H&W channels are for poor quality speaker design, such as one gets in a typical multi-channel speaker package that produce zero soundstage.

Bose sucks balls
JDmsz (1 year ago)
why spend so much money on a pre-amp when you get shitty wattage when you could buy a separate amp if your avr have pre-outs?
JDmsz (1 year ago)
also these avrs are crappy. go with Denon, marantz, or Yamaha
Enrique Columbie (1 year ago)
The 520 was discontinued.... you should definitely replace it with the lifestyle 650

Harpal Chauhan That was hard to get through. But I agree.

Cables MAY make a difference, but surely that difference should be measurable with some form of electronic equipment ? It would be a trivial exercise for one of the big cable companies to contract an independent (as in completely independent of the audio industry) lab to do the measurements : problem solved.
Harpal Chauhan (1 year ago)
Electronics For Fun his name is Eugene lool and have to say that's one area there wrong in my books too, I believe cables do make a difference if you can hear it or see it for yourself. Only bit i agree is some cables are way OVER priced for what they can do. Reason I tipped audioholics because there there only decent reviews of home cinema amplifiers on you tube . Personally I used home cinema and what hi fi for reviews before I bought my denon x4200 and and denon 3313ud bluray player couple years ago never knew of audioholics then . In 1997 when DVD players were about I didn't know about cables so I used to think the SCART cable that came with my Sony 735 was good enough until one day in DVD review I saw a RGB only scart by QED and all the reviews it had received so i bought that and a ixos fibre optic cable with the rgb only scart I could see straight away how much sharper and cleaner the picture looked and I was not getting that blocking effect you used to get with the colour red or green in movies If you know what I'm talking about.since then i stayed with QED until now there cables are so far ahead of the competition that if you most companies try copy there ideas. sorry if this a bit long but now when i got my bluray player it comes with bog standard hdmi , but when i bought all my stuff i bought some QED performance for my Xbox and Samsung bluray player for the kids so they dont use my denon and referance and signature cables for my denon 3313ud and my denon x4200. Just to test the hdmi cables in used the bog standard cable on the Samsung player which had deep colour setting which most people didn't even know about or used then 😂😂😂😂 just to compare even though with previous experince I knew there would be difference but I wanted to see how much difference there was with each cables range because reference and signature cables came in at £120 and above performance was £60. With the performance there was improvement over the normal cable picture looked more cleaner and there was a difference in colour too, then I tried the reference which could handle deep colour our and full deep colour which wasn't around then in 2012 but is now see what I mean ahead of the competition. Now with the reference you could see straight away what deep colour was about much more colourful but not over saturated and crystal clear and razor Sharp aswell more depth and space in the picture too simply perfect. As for the signature didn't use it as that was to carry audio from my bluray player to my amp only and its got same specs as the reference but just different colour to the referance just to make it different really. As for speaker cables I use QED genesis silver spiral for my front 3 channels and QED signature subwoofer cable and QED silver Anniversay xt on my back 4 channels. I belive it's money well spent as QED will not bring out a new cable with new claims just to make money only this year after 12 years or longer they have bought a new cable to go above the silver spiral, but it's in a different league of its own nd as for sound I can tell there's much tight grip and control of my speakers, my front speaker are dali zensor 7 and what hi fi said that they can become a bit unruly with bass at times, but with the gennisis I've never come across that issue, reason I don't have the genisis on my back channels is it would of cost me a over a £500 per speaker at 10 meters for my zensor 3, and QED advised me its better to use the silver anivesary insted as the zensor 3 only have 1 7 ich driver unlike zensor 7 or the vocal I use as my front speakers at 3 meters each see what I mean about not trying to rip you off. Never used on one since and doubt I will who gives you lifetime guarantee. Which I took them up on recently when I accidently pulled the cable out if the airlock connection, they even paid for the return postage

l think the audioholics are too smug. the nerdy looking guy and the mexican guy who looks like he kills bulls with his bare hands, are too sure of themselves and their audio knowledge like tek syndicate. they are quick to dismiss which is understandable to keep videos short but saying speakers cables don't matter just isn't true and at the same time it is true. solid silver cables to make a difference in sound quality over copper coated aluminum, l know because l have heard this myself first hand. l was in an acoustically treated studio with bass traps, cubes and the whole deal and l was listening to a pair of bowers and wilkins CM9's and the files were 32-bit WAV's at 192Khz and l could hear the difference. the thing is l was in absolutely perfect conditions and was using audio files big enough to make an ipod explode. most people don't have absolutely perfect circumstances and don't have the hard drive space for those kind of files, so to a very large majority of people the cables don't matter as long as they are thick enough for your speakers and thick enough to compensate for electrical resistance created over longer distances.
Harpal Chauhan (1 year ago)
common atmos is not really that much of a revolution, it only enhances it really work it out what Carrys more information is the main 7.1 or 5.1 this just adds thst extra bit no revolution in my books.
