The List is a women’s lifestyle site, with a twist. We pride ourselves on being original, well-researched, and without sugar-coating, but no topic is beneath us. We tackle everything from reality TV (we’re a bit obsessed!), to finding love, to living a healthy and happy life. Every video you watch is either a personal experience, advice from an expert, or meticulously sourced, so you know you’re getting info you can trust, from women who get it.
why is rolex on this list? Is your point there is cheaper watches out there?! following this logic all brands have to be on the list! but if your point is, that omega makes “better” watches for the money you’re wrong!
I’ve worked in the luxury fashion industry and a lot of what this video says is complete nonsense. Designers invest massive amounts of money to create novel designs and bring them to market. Many Italian brands still employ artisans to create a designers vision. Their craft has been passed down through generations and that knowledge and high quality work is worth a substantial amount of overall cost.
I had the privileged to meet one of the woman making leather bags for the company I worked for. It takes hundreds of hours, the work is painstaking but it’s also exquisite. Fast fashion is the real problem. They’re putting these artisans out of business, they’re the largest polluters, they’ve turned areas in China into polluted wastelands. All so you can load up you plastic bags with $1 shirts that will likely be in the dump a year from purchase.
You get what you pay for and quality over quantity is the best way to go.
Ok then, I will write a book using pen and paper, chop down trees to make the paper and cover, and do a lot of chemical analysis to make the title font written in pure gold. All of that surely must be worth $1000 per copy.
And btw, do you really think the average person really cares about the stuff you're talking about? Only insecure show-offs, snobs, hipsters, and fake rich people do
I disagree with your video. Rolex is an investment worthy as prices keeps appreciating. Louis Vuitton is also worthy as the quality is very good and some pieces can be sold at higher price in aftermarket. Your review is very bias
People nowadays buy watches if they look good and have decent enough quality, and that group take up 95% of the people you are supposed to make an impression on. The remaining 5% are hipsters, gold diggers, and snobs.
As for quality, there comes a point where price compared to quality isn't a factor anymore
Just because of a tag, button or plaque made in China probably.
Bic 1.60 is a good pen, diamonds at Tiffany? I prefer not to pay their designs...
Gucci is also boring, horrible designs and bad perfumes, Balenciaga isn't different.
I once bought a diamond ring from a known retailer for 3 grand took it to have it appraised somewhere else
They said it was worth 300.00 I quickly returned it they had a60 day return policy
What a rip to off not even worth half
Aren’t Rolex expensive because they’re handcrafted and the workmanship is top notch ? I think there’s a video or a few that explain why they’re so expensive, and with a lot of luxury brands too, it’s about the craftsmanship.. yeah some are shifty and rely on brand name but others are worth the money (in my opinion anyways).
Respect? The only people you will get respect from are greedy snobs and gold diggers, and you will only be endorsing greed and capitalism, as well as sending the message that you're insecure, irresponsible with your money, and that you're trying way too hard
I don't really agree because Louis Vuitton is a really good quality brand. I think it's better to buy an expensive bag which is really good quality than buy a cheap bag and it'll get ruined in about a year. This is just my opinion though
Any fancy handbag like this screams "look at ME! I'm so internally bankrupt I need to social signal"...and the regular stream of blue pill cucks and manginas who line up to pay for their girls bullshit status toys like this.
I buy products after examining the material carefully like my mom taught me and then I decide whether the price is right or not cuz I don't like bargaining like my father. He hated it so do I and I often end up getting a damn good worth the money items without looking at the brand. As long as I'm happy with it I don't concern myself with luxury item loving people cause they're stupid.
I still buy inexpensive but not cheap products and fancy folks are always like "you'll never understand the appeal of Gucci, Prada, Apple, Jordans Armani" and shit like that. Fuck you all of you. I'mma save money and buy a mother fucking house.
When I used to work for social services, I always wondered why the women applying for welfare services couldn’t afford food for their 6 kids or healthcare for their 7th pregnancy yet had a Coach bag and a fresh pair of J’s on. SMH
Best way to know if you are paying for something that isn't worth the money - check its resale cost. Usually items in perfect condition that have been pre-owned for a year or two drop in price down to roughly what they would cost without all the fancy branding + marketing ( so just production + logistics )
I consider experimental theatre as art (I'm not kidding), but a company doesn't charge me over $200 to see one of their performances either. Plus that with style and fashion, you usually want to make a good impression on the general people, and the general people don't care about outside factors or things that only "connoisseur" even notice in an item; they focus on how good you look wearing it.
I get the bag thing but then again those things are indestructible but montblanc really is worth it uf you have a lot of things to sign. If you exclude rolex you should also exclude any other expensive watch brand.
Louis Vuitton - as a collector most my bags I had from this brand I sold for the same price I paid.
Montblanc - agreed
Veuve Clicquot - agreed
Tiffany - agreed. I got only 30-40% of what I paid for :-(
Rolex - as a collector I must say that this is a lie. Specially now that the brand had shortened Suppliers
Louboutin - agree
Mikimoto - it has retained the resale value
Balenciaga - agree
1. Girls who date men because they wear a Rolex are not worth dating whatsoever; they are what we call "gold diggers" and are the most shallow and manipulative people in the world.
2. I'm a shareholder and can easily afford a Rolex if I want to. I just see no point when Tissot, Linjer, Seiko, and Citizen exist and when I've earned my respect and accomplishments with items for less than $200. Anyone who goes above that is insecure, irresponsible, and really ignorant. It's actually proven in multiple surveys that rich people spend much less on fashion than poor people and insecure fake rich people like yourself.
3. My typos were minor compared to you not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're" and not knowing how to spell "argument".
4. Do you really think people care about what you're talking about apart from hipsters, gold diggers, and fake rich people? 99% of the world population notices if your style looks great or trash, not what brand you're wearing. Heck, I've even impressed a lot of people with watches for just $36 since they had a lovely design and looked great with my outfit, which is what a watch is supposed to do apart from telling time. Being able to impress people, making a statement, and giving out good impressions for less money is a sign of power and confidence.
It took you so long to respond and you only confirmed that you're fake rich, insecure, irresponsible, and try way too hard? Pathetic!
+StrasbergProtégé I'm sorry my spell check wasn't on point while I'm picking up the dog crap in my backyard and carrying on this pointless conversation with you when you're clueless on the topic. Instead of hating on Rolex and people who own them since it sounds like one of them probably stole your girlfriend, or perhaps boyfriend...maybe you should focus on points that matter in a debate instead of coming off as a jealous noob without facts and only weak opinions. Rolex isn't worth it to you because it's probably out of your price range, isn't important to you, or you're simply ignorant to watches and horology (My guess would be all of those). For someone who is knowledgeable on the topic, Rolex is worth its weight in gold. Btw, if you're going to call me out on spelling and grammar don't forget to capitalize "M" if you're referring to me as "mr. Hitler." Also, embarrassing has two r's in it... Now that's what I call embarrassing!
It isn't worth it when you don't accomplish anything with it. But please enlighten me mr. Hitler if you're so wise.
Btw, is it that hard for you to know the difference between "you're" and "your" and how to spell "argument"? That's just embarrassing
+StrasbergProtégé See, now you're blowing your arguement. You've gone from trying to say that Rolex isn't worth it, to switching you're position saying why would you wanna be insecure and portray being a show off or fake rich and live in a dump. If you knew anything about watches, which clearly you don't....Rolex is not a rich man's watch brand, and if you think Rolex is a rich man's watch brand than it proves the fact even more that you clearly have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Why would I wanna be an insecure and fake rich show-off? The only message I will be sending is that I'm trying too hard and that I'm irresponsible with my money. Even if there are people who care about "luxury", then I don't really think they're worth impressing. Nobody wants to experience the scenario of meeting someone with a Rolex watch who lives in a dump and whose boss wears a t-shirt on a regular basis.
Actual rich and highly-regarded people have earned their respect through their style and probably other means than just wearing branded items.
I'd disagree with Montblanc. Especially because they have steadily been going up in popularity for their smaller leather goods. In business - not the majority of us peasants - having your client or you sign that important document with a pen like Montblanc truly seals the deal and brings confidence. Just my opinion though :)
Rolex is overhyped? Is that a joke? Just because some idiots treat a Submariner like a status symbol doesn't mean Rolex doesn't deserve to be hyped. Horologists respect Rolex because they make their own movements which are not only very accurate, they're about as durable as an automatic gets.
Louis Vuitton is for POSERS trying to look like they got a lot of money they don't have. LV knows this it's why their affordable stuff is emblazoned with the logo while the most expensive items have nothing of the sort. They know these wankers wanna brag so they price the garish shit that's made on the cheap within their reach.
Not everything each brand sells is not worth the money. There’s always good and bad products branded items even in not branded items. Don’t define one product by just the brand. Some are worth the money but some are not. Oh ya some people buy items from these shops to show and prove how rich they are but it’s total mess
As someone who can afford this kind of crap, I've never bought it for myself. Although I admit, it does feel good walking out of Burberry. Doesn't affect your quality of life in any way, though. There are much greater reasons to acquire (or pine after) wealth.
For luxury brands, first if you are buying them it means that you can afford them and you’re not like saving money to buy just one LV bag, and then complaining about the “not worth the money” price. Second, luxury brands are for very rich people. It’s not about the quality nor for the name themselves, it’s for a combination of the two. Also, rich people like to buy expensive things, whether or not they’re useful. It’s just fun, it’s just to say “I have a new LV bag!” because they can afford to buy them and not to be affected financially at all! I am unfortunately not in the rich people category but I’m not complaining, these brands are just not for “normal” people. If you want to buy something that’s worth the price there are a lot of brands out there that are really worth the price and they do make great products. You will never ever see a bag that is actually worth 2000 dollars unless it has diamonds or some really expensive material in them.
. and something else that most of the people don't know..about sunglasses..there is a factory in Italy that makes sunglasses for almost all famous brands legally..if you buy Gucci Armani Luis Vuitton sunglasses at the end of the day is like buying Ray-Ban..the name of the company is luxotica I think..
Finally, an honest report. When I think about the money I wasted in my younger days (before tech advanced forward), on Louboutins, La Mer, LV etc...I feel pretty lame and wasteful!
Nowadays, I buy good quality products NOT brands! Also real estate investments have way more ROI.
A high net worth is much more impressive than depreciable goods for people who don’t really matter that much in life!
I hope people start waking up to the pure fact these high priced products are only because someone decided to put a high price tag on them so they can live a luxurious life off the backs of those foolish enough to buy their stuff. I went into a Micheal Kors store to see if the purses looked better in person. and NOPE, they were just as hideous in person as they were online. Besides that luxurious look starts from the inside and how you feel and think about yourself. If you can look good in a paper bag, you don't need any of this stuff!
Louis Vuitton is one of those luxury designers that your bag can hold its value. Chanel, Gucci, and Prada don’t hold their value and keep going down in value. If you want to put your money towards designers that are worth it try Hermès and Louis Vuitton.

Bricolajul a ajuns in Romania in urma cu aproximativ 10 ani, insa in Statele Unite si in statele occidentale acest concept este mai vechi, si isi are originile la inceputul anilor ’50.
