Oh my god, I think I found my style

I have a problem with the shoes, how can you be timeless when you can't wear pumps or ballerinas? If I were to wear a suit and put dress shoes underneath it becomes very masculine but if I use a boot it just doesn't match... I'm seriously struggling with this :(
Amber Gonzalez (1 month ago)
Ahh where is that dress from? I tried zooming in but could not see lol
myfav0s2012 (2 months ago)
More expensive/labels doesn’t always mean better quality. Many times all you’re paying for is a name (for bragging rights) but the material can be just a cheap as something you got at walmart.

Could u do a style tips on girly and preppy look😍

Your Videos are so smart. You are definitely a savvy stylist. Keep making them. Seasonal wardrobe style videos would be nice.

I'm not sure if i can pull this Style of...i'm 18 years old and i don't wanna look like someone acting adult in a childish way...i might need some other type of inspiration
Amelia A (9 months ago)
Actually I don't think I have "a type"....one day I may feel like dressing classic, another maybe boho chic, another day I might feel minimalist... I dont' think we have to have a "type" of style! Just to know how to put an outfit together that looks good, flattering, stylish and reflects your charisma. Thanks for the tips!

I wish I knew who the oversize doctor's bag was by that is hanging on the rack by the trench coat. I love that bag.

I am from Greece and I am a big fan! I watch all your videos and are very helpful. I am 46 years old, teacher in high school and I dress in a various ways, casual chic, upgraded bohemian, edgy classic or modern romantic e.t. according to my mood or occasion. Is it alright or we must meanly have ONE style? I still have a difficulty to find my signature thing...

Just subbed Lauren. You are exactly what i need 👍

I m a tastefully timeless person, age 67 but I have an apple shape body and cannot tuck a shirt in, so what do you suggest?
Vicky P (6 months ago)
Sherry Hudson - no problem! Avoid chunky or cable knit sweaters. No ultra light or slinky materials. Wear clothing that has "body" to it so it hangs well. Bring the focus to your face/upper chest (with collared shirts, necklaces or earrings, light shoulder pads, brooches, bright scarves) or to your feet (with spectacular shoes or studs on the lower outside of jeans), and longer jackets, sweaters, vests that hit just below the bottom of your butt. Balance your figure with straight leg slacks or jeans. And, yes, you can tuck your shirt; lightly tuck one side in over your hip letting the hem of the shirt hang across you on a diagonal. Elegant!

I really appreciate these videos. I feel they would be more useful if you added links as to where to get both the investment pieces and the budget equivalents. Thanks
Alexis Welch (1 year ago)
Good content... you could show more enthusiasm... you almost made me want to skip this video. if the content was trash I definitely would have given this a thumbs down, but considering the content, I went ahead and watched. Show that u care about what you are talking about andv I others will too!
I think she should play music in the background... maybe change the kind of music with kind of style that is being covered.
Jessie Lawrence (1 year ago)
So far I'm a minimal, edgy, tastefully timeless. This narrowing down is difficult!
Victoria Aramburu (1 year ago)
Lauren, thanks for your videos. Question: most of the examples are in black... can we get a style inspiration excluding black? thanks a lot xox

Just started watching your videos and love your hair in this. You look so beautiful!

it seems like theres some cross over between pieces that could be considered tastefully timeless vs minimalist. I think my personal style these days is a cross between the two

You give great advice, but using the word "don't" when you should use "doesn't" makes you sound uneducated and unprofessional.
tishushu (2 years ago)
This whole series is just amazing and so helpful!!! I think this one might be more my style but I still have a few more to watch! 🙃

Where is the black purse hanging on the rack from?
elisa li (2 years ago)
Is that Kooples dress from an old season :( It's so pretty!
Nunana Gamed (2 years ago)
brooks brothers, jcrew, landsend etc etc
p.s. I also have a thick, short waist that you can barely see and you say to tuck shirts in. I admit to not wanting to sloppy, but I don't want to look cut in half also. I did also mention before what do you recommend for a dramatic/ sensual personality with a touch of trendy personality type and which one of your style series do you recommend? I absolutely love making an entrance and being sexy, but trampy. I also like to throw in a bit of trendy to catch people off guard. In other words " Flashy Not Trashy With A Bit Of An Edge" is how I'd describe my look.
What do recommend for a dramatic/ sensual personality and style type? What style series should I be watching of yours?
Atmi Sianipar (2 years ago)
hi lauren, i think u need a music background for this video. but i still love your video, really helpfull
Lauren Messiah (2 years ago)
yeah i know :( my editor forgot to put the music in there. i was debating no video for the day or a video without music. i went with music free.

I consider myself to be somewhat minimalist/tastefully timeless and im having a hard time blending both styles and figuring out what fits my style best. Any tips you could give me?

Franziska Bienia (1 year ago)
Barbara Mello Why would you have a hard time? I think a minimalist closet like the timeless classic closet is all about basics and classics that go with everything, right? Maybe you don't have to limit yourself to 30 pieces.
Zane zzz (2 years ago)
You did such a great job! This was about me, this is my style, now I understood how to call it ;) Tastefully Timeless! Yesss!
bourneleader96 (2 years ago)
Some other wonderful brands that are less expensive are New York & Company, The Limited, White House Black Market, Ann Taylor, and sometimes you can find some nice timeless pieces at Banana Republic as well. 😊👍
Stu cumins (2 years ago)
Cool hair Lauren! Love timeless, tasteful style, it seems so classy. An accurate descriptor for my weekday working look. Regards, Deb.
MsOnitemi (2 years ago)
This is totally my style. Thanks Lauren! I would add Charlize Theron and Amal Clooney as style icons. Also, you had the Givenchy Antigona handbag hanging right there and you didn't talk about it! I love classic structured bags and that is another hallmark of the timeless style. Another timeless designer that I love (and is quite affordable!) is Laundry by Shelli Segal. Love everything she creates!

Finally, my style has a name!
geminitauberge (2 years ago)
I absolutely adore this video! I would love to see your suggestions for tastefully timeless in the summer. It's far too hot in FL for my beloved blazers and long sleeve blouses.
RosiBosi (2 years ago)
Great video and amazing top!!!
Finally, you hit it right on the money. I could not decide what my style type was, but I know now as a woman in my early 30's with a tendency to wear classic, clean looks that I am a timeless beauty. Every single piece you showed I have similar items in my closet. Lauren you are amaze"balls".
Sandra Sequeira (2 years ago)
This is my favourite style! LOVE!!!

love this series!!!!
CurlyYogi (2 years ago)
This was a great and really helpful video!! You are killing the game. Do you have a recommendation for where to get more budget friendly blazers and a similar look to that givenchy (I think) bag?
ThriftyMiss (2 years ago)
Forever21 and H&M offer some surprisingly decent blazers, though you do have to be discerning with your selection. Look for good fabric that doesn't pill easily (check the exterior armpit area for fuzz after trying on and enthusiastically rubbing your arms back and forth). Also look for a blazer that is lined- the fabric will lay nicer and have better structure, and especially with light colors, you won't see right through to the seams and clothes underneath. As always, check for good stitching, and it should last pretty well if you take care of it. I have a blazer from F21 that was under $30 five years ago and one from H&M that was on sale for $15, and both are still in great condition and look way more expensive than they were. You could also thrift shop, and may even score a designer find. Don't be afraid to buy something like that and get it tailored if you love it and the fit is a tiny bit off; if it fits in the shoulders, the adjustment shouldn't be terribly complicated.

Hi Lauren, love your channel! I'm 29 years old and asian...the problem with us asian is that we look 10 years younger than our actual age. I always have a hard time dressing appropriate to my age as I don't wanna look like I'm a teenager. I tend to reach for plain or solid colors but It feels kinda boring. I need help. Thank you in advance.
Alexis Welch (1 year ago)
Asain that looks young? Wow! Thats a good thing! ENJOY IT!!!...it is very seasonal!...
mpmg67 (1 year ago)
Looking 10 years younger than your actual age is a PROBLEM??? I'm sure you look wonderful !
Lyndell Werling (2 years ago)
Great video. I love that you said timeless women aren't sloppy. Street style is often that way and the reminder that being pulled together is possible on any budget resonates well with those of us who can't wear jeans & sneakers for many of our activities.
Archergrl5 (2 years ago)
The audio and content of this video are great but for whatever reason the video was having issues when I watched it of being jumpy and occasionally being mismatched with the audio. (watching on mobile)
bourneleader96 (2 years ago)
+Archergrl5 It could just be her, but I've been noticing it a lot on mobile recently.
Archergrl5 (2 years ago)
+bourneleader96 Huh. Possibly. This was the only video I've seen recently with that issue.
bourneleader96 (2 years ago)
I honestly think it might be a problem with YouTube! TONS of videos from different people have had this issue lately.
Archergrl5 (2 years ago)
Hey Lauren, fyi the title frame has a format issue tastefull (space) y (space) timeless
Archergrl5 (2 years ago)
+Lauren Messiah LOL no worries I just figured you'd want to know
Lauren Messiah (2 years ago)
Thanks for the heads up. I'm clearly overworking my editor 😬

Great video! Speaking of timeless classics: how much timeless luxe can/should one go in the everyday life? I own a vintage black Chanel camera bag with golden hardware and i'm a bit reluctant to wear it in this average town of mine. I actually wanted to invest in a new classic flap, but i fear it would be too flashy for the everyday life as well. I don't ever see branded stuff on the street here. These people don't seem to care much about style anyway. What's your take on this Lauren?
bourneleader96 (2 years ago)
Yes! I live in a rural small town and NOBODY here ever dresses up. I love classic, timeless pieces but I look so ridiculously out of place.
Celä P. (2 years ago)
Great video as always! 💕 Could you film a video about a little bit transparent blouses? Because I have a lot of them and I never know, what to wear underneath.
christine1962ful (7 months ago)
Celä P. Brilliant idea. I look slim around the tummy when standing but once seated, a see through top would reveal all sins! Would love to see a video on that. Especially as the weather is changing, and see through blouses seem to be everywhere in 2018!

What would be an option for a pump for this style? I was thinking of a pointes flat.

Can you update Looks for the Trench. I have one but they just remind me of the flashers in the parks in London (The Burb). Thanks Lauren. Loving the hair......................................
