What always knocks me out about this movie is that is an Aesop's Fable. Llewelyn didn't really owe that much money, and all those brand-new pistols and shotguns he found at the drug site would have more than paid his debts. He was a gun expert, after all. But..then it goes Greek tragedy when he just has to grab that bag of money.
abd al rahman ahmed (8 days ago)
i am pretty happy about Llewllyn's death. The character is so cliche to be honest.Strong cow boy that doesn't feel fear or scream in pain who is also a veteran is not realistic. When i saw him dead it came as plea sent surprise for me as i am used to characters like that winning at the end. All that tough talk from him made me cringe

I yearn for a remake of this movie where Moss finds the tracker when hes getting himself some spending money. I wanna see what would happen.

all you saying you would've checked the money for a tracker, you say that because you saw this movie and can now think of that. reality is most of you fools would've done the same . quit bragging and making Llewelyn look like an idiot.

Didn't know they were giving out free HBO in the 70's.

I can't believe he doesn't check for a tracker in that money. I guess it was still a new thing back then.

In the book he checked for one, but didn't check hard enough.

It seems some people have forgotten when this movie was set because i absolutely guarantee you that if you came across a briefcase full of cash in the 80's you ain't checking it for some James Bond 007 gadget shit... Yeah the briefcase did have a tracker in it but was tech like that common knowledge back then? ITS THE 80's.
Jeremy Parker (13 days ago)
Pee Wee my question is why didn’t he Change suitcases for the money to be in he was too dumb to think that this man keep finding me everywhere I go Something isn’t right Carson found him in three hours but to him no red flag went off
Aragorn Stellar (1 year ago)
For being such a “smart guy,” Moss made a lot of stupid mistakes. Why in the world did he leave the money in the case?

Llewellyn is the smartest idiot in movies of late.He does some really smart things yet makes easy mistakes that shouldn't be done.
Hooligan Δ (7 days ago)
@Fan Made Videos you're right, by the time Anton showed up and recovered the tracker he would've been long gone had he not returned and left his truck there. Also it was his mother in law that finally did him in.
Fan Made Videos (9 days ago)
@Antonio Frankesntein You're both WRONG. By going back to the scene, encountering the second group of Mexican cartel men he exposed his identity with his truck plates. He was doomed the moment he saw the aftermath and pursued the spoils (guns, ammo, and then the money). If he was a man of strong moral character he would have reported the scene to Sheriff Bell, but it wasn't meant to be. That's the brilliance of the entire movie. The smallest of decisions can lead to a life altering outcome. I suppose you could argue that if Llewellyn just kept the money and didn't go back it would afford more time for him to pack up and skip town with Carla Jean, but I'm willing to bet that she'd gossip about it to her mother or friends at work and the news would eventual circle back to other circles.
damian chamberlin (4 months ago)
Happy Schizophrenic the transponder was in the briefcase. They would drove some circles around his town until they found it then just killed Him and his wife in their sleep
Antonio Frankesntein (9 months ago)
Stephanie Lam Wrong, that was actually the smartest thing he could have done, if he had not done such thing he wouldnt even know there was a gps tracker hiding in the briefcase giving his home address as last location while hes asleep with his wife at home without having any knowledge of it, then probably getting murdered while sleeping, the fact that he came back to the scene and leaves his truck behind makes him realize that there still men looking up for the briefcase and now they have his home adress because of the lisence plate, then he proceeds to come back home and leave with his wife knowing they are going for him anyways.

I love how much of the story is conveyed through dialogue--and how much is conveyed by a simple sequence of actions. It's so simple, so concise. Mastery of the fundamentals of filmmaking.
Joe Bland (1 year ago)
Does anyone else think the writing got weak towards the end of the story? I think it was great writing, and then towards the end the author rushed it and left a lot of empty scenes with no explanation, like the sheriff finding Llewellyn after the show down, and the missed opportunity for a show down with Anton?
Anderson Cooper (1 month ago)
This movie is based on a book
Morgan Baker (7 months ago)
I think the point of the film was that the randomness of fate strikes when you least expect it. Life isn’t fair, and I think that’s what the story was trying to convey.
Brent Argue (11 months ago)
Read the book , Fuck!
Cush Pesaro (1 year ago)
The sheriff was one step behind Chigurh and Moss the entire film and I'm sure its meant to represent something, but I'm not 100% clear on what it is. As for the show down (I assume you mean between the sheriff and Chigurh when Chigurh is behind the door) the 2 doors in the crime scene both had the locks done in, Chigurh was behind the door that the sheriff didn't go through and it represents how lucky we all are in life and how often we could die, had the sheriff picked the 2nd door he would've been killed. It also represents the coin toss that Chigurh does throughout the film as they are both 50/50 chances with one of the 50's being death.
