+kpipson, I have the same concern as well.
Can you answer this one, Linda?
I'm going for an interview the day after next. And the position (Accounting clerk) has little to do with my most recent job (landscspe general labourer).
However, the company I am going to be interviewing for is the same company where I most recently worked at (I'm a seasonal employee there).
Now it's just in a possible different capacity (accounting clerk as I've mentioned). I do have an accounting and finance degree, but I do not yet have the work experience).
So basically, what can you suggest?
Thanks in advance for your help. By the way, great tips and great presentation with your video.
You have the extrordinary ability to engage your viewers because of your demeanor and outgoing personality. I would like to emulate that in my interactions with potential employers when I go for job interviews.
Your videos are amazing! I'm so grateful for all of these information you're sharing with everyone! I wish that all your videos had subtitles in all languages because these tips are useful everywhere, I speak Portuguese and I haven't found anything like you have in your videos. =)
What if you don't have any work experiences? What if you're applying in your first job? How can you answer them about your qualification if you are a fresh graduate? This tips only applies to those who have work experiences..
But good advice BTW. I wish you have a tips for first timer.. I can't really use some of your advice becoz I don't have any work experiences.
Recruters have your resume already in hands. So why should you tell them about your carreer? They are rather looking for your communication methodes and if you are a risk taker not the content of your resume.
Hey, Linda! Roaming into 3 job interview videos, your is the most concise and clear points about interviewing, though you speak talking about too fast that it would be too fast for interviewing or not I don't know. This video definitely got a clear point step by steps among all.
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else is searching for common job interview questions try Lomonting Interview Answers Mentor (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.
Some good advice but I feel like for technology roles it's not very helpful. I mean we get paid to do what we are told and offer good customer service. Other departments are there to automate and save costs. What cam be said for that? I've had a lot of interviews but out of the 8 only 2 I have gone through to stage 2. Very nervous and hard for me as I'm not the most outgoing person. I just feel like telling them that I want the job to pay my rent and feed my family. I wish they looked past the talking and looked at the person as a whole.
As much as I am amazed and encouraged by how well this can work, I'm disheartened for what it might mean for me.
I've been in the wrong kind of job all my life, because that's all I can get for a person in my position.
I've only barely reached the "acceptable" bar in about 2 or 3 of the 9 jobs I have had (I possess all 3 dyspraxic symptoms), and all my best accomplishments have been persevering and persevering where I've never fit, and sticking it out despite how much every position suffocated me.
The achievements never benefited who I worked for, but they benefited me... Is it possible to outshine tip 2 by making tip 1 to be tip 3 oriented? Especially as I was blessed enough to be called up for an informal phone interview, and was able to ask in detail everything that would be required of me for the position I'm yet to be formally interviewed on?
Linda has great content, watch her videos!
One additional recommendation would be to answer with question with "I reviewed the position and it appears to be a great match for my three of my core strengths/skills, problem solving, leadership, and driving results with data (identify your specific strengths for the position you are applying to). I am happy to discuss all three, but is their one strength you would like me to focus on that would aligns with your specific needs right now for this opening?"
This is important because you turned your focus specifically to the role and how you are a fit, these are the critical items for the tell me about yourself question. Remember sometimes company priorities change after they post the role, don't assume that they won't have a specific skill or strength that is critical right now/today; you are allowing the interviewer to see that you are focused on their needs and removing any guess work or assumptions about what is most important to them. This strategy may only work 25% of the time, but in those instances you will be telling the interviewer exactly what they want to hear. If not, you are still focused on aligning your core strengths/skills with the position and this is always a good idea!
I hope this insight helps!
Ashutosh Mishra it actually went good and I am happy in my performance and to be honest I did my researches before going and they asked me about what I know about them and they were happy that I was actually able to answer that which proves that I was really interested in getting the job. They said that they would get back to me within a week if I got hired so fingers crossed haha

I have an interview today with a company, i'm freaking out because the interview will be in French and English and I'm just lost preparing the content of my resume in English and French... i want to nail it wish me luck :(
I almost forgotten the lesson I've learn 1 year ago from my respective training school "Springboard academy"...
I dunno what to do to remember all the record voices and the written knowledge on my sheets cuz i lost them all when i was applying at supermarket as the beginning of my career... But now... I found this video, tonight i recovering at least some of the lesson that I've learn from my trainer, I'm so glad that you made this tutorial mam.. Now I'm going to step forward and continuing my journey, soon i will meet my trainer again with full of confidence and honor. Long live mam!
this video was made in 2016. and this is beneficial for junior roles or newbie. story lines on every work history will piss the interviewer - its too long. interviewers want to be listened and only listen when they deems necessary. hence, interviewee must always be 30% Talk Only, 50% Listen and 20% Query! I learnt my lessons hard.
The question: Why do you want to leave your current job (which is a very physically demanding job)?
The real answer: I don't, but I have physical limitations that make a sit-down job much more desirable. [I do have extensive experience in the potential new job's field.]
Okay so how do I answer this without lying, seeming weak and/or a risk? [At curent job for 2+ years, prior job for 5.5 years; I'm not a fickle employee.]
Thank you so much !! I watched your videos and a few others and interviewed at Randolph Credit Union for a Senior HR position. I just retired from the military and was anxious but prepared! These videos helped me formulate my words and received the Job the next day! The other interviewee cancelled before my interview and I was the only person questioned! The Lord Blessed me and made me the only candidate and I killed it!! Thank you
This is not entirely accurate. There is always that question in a interview that ask you about your job experience. So if you already told them all this in the tell about yourself question, you just trash your interview. Keep in mind some interviewers do want to know your personal life, to understand what kind of person you are outside work.
If there is only a "right" or "perfect" way to deliver lines for a job interview, I think something is amiss. I would rather have someone say something imperfectly, and know that person could fit in and be hired for being genuine. References can be checked, and a probationary period is in place to access the fit or match. From my POV, your prescribed method of interviewing may not be recommended as a one size fits all solution to hiring and how those decisions are made. I inquire when I don't know what the company mission is. Nothing wrong with asking and finding out.
Can a panel not sense that a "canned" script is rehearsed? I should be able to tell my story my way, and if they don't like it, maybe I need to find a work environment that is more accepting of me and my skills.
So many career coaches mention that job seekers should include quantifiable results when discussing achievements. Many job seekers, perhaps a majority, have not kept track of this, or did not know how to keep track of this. For example, at 4:02 you state "This resulted in a time savings of approximately 1 day per month. How would your average worker determine this? There are so many variables at play in the real world. Can you create a video that provides guidance on how to do this for a few example job titles?

Bricolajul a ajuns in Romania in urma cu aproximativ 10 ani, insa in Statele Unite si in statele occidentale acest concept este mai vechi, si isi are originile la inceputul anilor ’50.
