Anton Chigurh would make Thanos nervous.

In watching this, I've come to realize that the Avengers should have called Javier Bardem in Infinity War.

This was a damn good movie

I probably would have camped in the corner and not the door. If he had let him come in after the door bolt was blown off from that angle, he probably would have killed him.

Is Anton firing solid slugs from that trademark silenced shotgun? He's making a hole at a time in the windshield.
David Kim (2 months ago)
Im confused. Why did moss not keep driving after running into that car???

This scene is scarier than any recent horror movie

A lot of credit goes to Roger Deakins who was the cinemotographer. He is a bit of a legend apparently. Obviously the Coens were working their magic as usual

Is that a fucking ghost town? Where is everyone?
Bill Gates (6 months ago)
For anyone that cares, that thing Anton uses to kill people is actually the thing used to kill cows at slaughter houses, they place that in the forehead and press the button. I saw it once in a documentary, I always thought it was just a made-up weapon for this movie.
Kekistan Shitlord (6 months ago)
He took the possibly dumbest place to hide when someone is about to storm your room and kill you, how about going next to the door?

This movie is so brilliant. It’s no “Ernest Goes To Camp”, but still...brilliant.

. You know he's after the money and he'll keep coming. A different position in the motel room would have been all it would have taken to end that one man reign of terror.

How can a movie be so fucking good?
ThunderAppeal (8 months ago)
So basically this movie is a modern day remake of The Good The Bad And The Ugly.
Jesse R (8 months ago)
0:48 Is that the actual part where he gets shot? Looks like it bounces off from the sidewalk after going through him.
jimmy goody (5 months ago)
Yes he gets shot. In the book he thinks to himself "what a shot" as he's legging it as he's a good distance away.

I was biting my nails throughout this scene..... The scene before this when he realises someone is outside... Those 2 minutes or whatever I just couldn't breathe through that tension. They should've uploaded that part as well
Frank van de Ven (9 months ago)
This is such a badass movie. I've seen it a few times, and keep rooting for Lewellen Moss, even though I know the outcome....

bareknuckles2u (10 months ago)
Love this movie. This scene is full of holes though!
Tyler Hussin (11 months ago)
I counted 14 shots... now Ive seen that shotgun Anton uses... and that thing don’t hold 14 shells unless he’s got Aquila Mini Shells, but I doubt it. And I also doubt he can reload that fast. Biggest upset ever is the death of Moss in this movie tho... :(
T E (8 months ago)
Tyler Hussin He was using a Tec 9 during this scene
akidnamedcam (1 year ago)
This movie is excellent and all, but what kind of slug round fucking marksman level shotgun does this man got???

kiveress (1 year ago)
In a rural Texas town in the 1980. Why not.
sid viciouss (1 year ago)
What i love about this scene is that you see what it's like to be hunted by Anton from another's perspective, A silent, invisible killing machine whose face isn't even seen. Up until this point we've seen how he operates first hand, but it's much more menacing when he's just a small muzzle flash in the distance followed by swift death, No music or theatrics the scene dosent need all that to be completely terrifying.

whats so terrifying about Javier's character, he has this expressionless emotion when he kills. when he does he really make you question you're own safety.
s3dchr (1 year ago)
I absolutely fucking love this movie. I would just randomly like to point out that Anton is definitely shooting slugs in this scene.
s3dchr (1 year ago)
Oh yeah, that would make sense(also considering he didn't obliterate his side). Then again, I'm not sure if a flechette would do that damage to that Mexican gangster's hand in the motel, but maybe he loads both :P
Alica Ljungberg (1 year ago)
I think it's flechettes considering how he hits both the ground and the redneck in one shot at 0:48

Gg No re how do you know Anton was a vet?
Le Huy-Anh (1 year ago)
Well, Anton is supposedly Mexican (from Mexico, and not a Chicano), so he wouldn't have been a vet in an American war.
a v (1 year ago)
Le Huy-Anh Anton was a vet too
Lurking Megalodon (1 year ago)
Damn good movie. Well put together. Clever. Feels real like you're actually seeing, real murders
Jon Byron (1 year ago)
That windshield wasn't a shotgun?
Copy Orange (1 year ago)
"He also wields a sound-suppressed Remington 11-87 semiautomatic shotgun and pistol (a TEC-9 in the film adaptation)" So, Tec-9 most likely.
Joris De Laat (1 year ago)
The best piece is not in it... you turd.
His aim with that tec is serious!
Wittor Joseph (1 month ago)
it's a silenced mp9
Jon Swole Jones (7 months ago)
Wasn't his assailant a Vietnam vet always on guard and being moving target? That would make sense.
markassbusta (7 months ago)
yea, it's also a movie.

the sound of that silenced shotgun is so epic
Thomas Paine (5 months ago)
Is that wrong ?
Chris Atkinson (7 months ago)
I was trying to figure out how he got off 15 shots in the last scene with the shotgun and without reloading. The suppressed machine gun would make sense or its just typical Hollywood bs.
markassbusta (7 months ago)
do you beat off to the sound of guns?
infinightsky (1 year ago)
Anton Chigurh would make the Terminator nervous.
Big Swing Face (2 months ago)
markassbusta (7 months ago)
you made a category mistake; a terminator doesn't have emotion by definition.

Lol Terminator was a machine and had no feelings but Javier Bardem would have made an excellent terminator as well

puns are the lowest form of humor. see dennet et.al in the book 'inside jokes' for an explanation.
Arnan (11 months ago)
Palace Evphoria Ofc I know it is a theme you doof. I was just asking if there was some kind of deeper symbolism in this scene. That guy I replied to seemed to know. Guess not.
Face Off (1 year ago)
I think Chigurh felt a twinge of regret that he wasn't the one to kill Moss
Tim Ewa (1 month ago)
didn't he claim/predict that Moss would bring the money to him & lay it at his feet? I think this movie is really about two truly driven men, & the randomness of life intruding on their intentions.
Tyler Parke (1 year ago)
1:55 Yes, shoot the driver, don't shoot Moss.
Thomas Paine (5 months ago)
It's a semi auto Tec9 they say, not a shotgun.
Thomas Paine (5 months ago)
Well, it's wisest to kill the driver first, then they are sitting ducks. Otherwise they might drive off.
Heineken Please (6 months ago)
He tought Moss hijacked the car and he was the one driving it
